Almonds
Almonds:

Almonds contain lots of healthy fats, fibre, protein, magnesium and vitamin E. Health benefits include lower blood sugar levels, reduced blood pressure and lower cholesterol levels. They also help reduce hunger and promote weight loss.

Almonds have an excellent nutrient profile. 28g contains:

37% of the RDA Vitamin E

32% of the RDA Manganese

20% of the RDA Magnesium

They also contain good amounts of copper, vitamin B2 (riboflavin) and phosphorus.

High in healthy monounsaturated fats.

A great source of antioxidants which help protect cells against oxidative stress that contribute to aging and diseases Inc. cancer.

High in Vitamin E, which protects cell membranes against damage by building up levels in the cell membranes to protect against oxidative damage.

Almonds are low in carbohydrate, high in protein, fats and fibre meaning they help to stabilise blood sugar levels.

Cacoa
Cacoa:

Cacoa – is rich in minerals including iron, magnesium, calcium, phosphorus, copper, and manganese and is a good source of selenium, potassium, and zinc. Cocoa has anti-inflammatory, anti-allergenic, anti-carcinogenic, and antioxidant qualities and has many health benefits.

The antioxidants and flavonoids in cocoa help reduce blood pressure and increase the elasticity of blood vessels by stimulating the blood vessel relaxing nitric oxide.

High antioxidant levels help to neutralise free radicals.

The flavonoids help to maintain a healthy brain and promote positive learning and memory. This may be due to the enhanced blood flow to the brain.

Cacoa has been shown to reduce blood glucose and LDL (bad) cholesterol levels as well as triglycerides and an increase in good HDL cholesterol.

Cacoa improves insulin resistance and glucose metabolism which helps to regulate blood sugar levels.

Coconut oil
Coconut oil:

Coconut oil is naturally rich in Medium Chain Triglycerides (MCTs) and Caprylic Acid which are scientifically proven to aid the body through antioxidant, antimicrobial, anti-fungal and antibacterial properties, help control cholesterol levels, promote weight loss

Capric acid and other medium chain triglycerides (MCTs) in coconut oil can increase 24-hour energy expenditure by up to 5% percent.

Lauric acid forms a monoglyceride called monolaurin which kills bacteria, viruses, and fungi helping to fight off infections

MCT’s in coconut oil help to reduce appetite.

Improved cognitive function. MCTs digested in the liver creates ketones that is the energy readily available to the brain without the need for insulin to be present therefore more efficiently fuelling the brain.

Helps reduce infections. MCT’s are a natural antibiotic which disrupts the lipid coating on bacteria and killing them. MCT’s can also digest a specific bacteria, helicobacter pylori, known to increase the risk of stomach cancer.

High in natural saturated fats. Coconut oil increases good cholesterol (HDL) can even help convert bad (LDL) cholesterol into good cholesterol. Increasing the ratio of HDL to LDL reduces the risk of heart disease.

Dates:

Dates are abundant in vitamins and minerals and are rich in healthy soluble fibre.

Contain iron (0.90mg per 100g, 11% RDA)

Rich in soluble fibre, essential for good digestive health and healthy bowels it draws water into the digestive tract, reducing constipation risk.

Dates also help strengthen good bacteria in the stomach.

Rich in minerals selenium, manganese, copper, calcium and magnesium which contribute to healthy bones

Rich in Potassium (696mg per 100g, 16% RDA) which increases alertness and speed of brain function. Potassium also helps support heart & cardiovascular health by helping to control heart rate and blood pressure and reducing bad LDL (low-density lipoprotein) cholesterol. Potassium has been shown to reduce the risk of stroke and other coronary diseases.

The potassium found in dates reduce stroke risk and adding dates to one’s diet can lower LDL (low-density lipoprotein) cholesterol.

Antioxidants, help to combat harmful free radicals in the body to help reduce signs of premature ageing. Vitamin C is especially beneficial for skin elasticity and other subcutaneous tissues improving skin softness and smoothness. Vitamin C can also help reduce the development of wrinkles by combating oxidation and reducing melanin accumulation.

Rich in B Vitamins with B5 being especially important for maintaining healthy hair.

Moderate amounts of vitamin A (149 IU per 100g) which is a powerful antioxidant and is also crucial to maintaining healthy vision, neurological function and healthy skin thanks to its ability to fight free radical damage.

Vitamin K assists calcium transport and is thus important for bone health helping to reduce bone loss, and reduce fracture risk.

Packed with natural sugars for energy perfect for a quick energy boost but the fibre content helps maintain the energy delivery preventing an energy crash.

Ginger
Ginger:

Ginger has a long history of health giving properties including improved digestion, reducing sickness, fighting colds & flus. Ginger is a good natural source of vitamin C, magnesium, potassium, copper, and manganese.

Ginger can increase thermogenesis (burning stored fat to create heat) which increases overall metabolism and decreases fat storage.

Research suggests that consuming thermogenic ingredients such as ginger may boost metabolism by up to 5 percent and increase fat burning by up to 16%. According to a recent review published in the Annals of the New York Academy of Sciences, ginger may protect against many of the consequences of metabolic syndrome, one of which is weight gain.

Gingerol is the main bioactive component of ginger and is a powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant.

Ginger helps to reduce the effects of exercise induced muscle pain dur to its anti-inflammatory properties.

The pain and stiffness of osteoarthritis can also be reduced by ginger. Again, associated with the anti-inflammatory properties.

Ginger has been shown to reduce blood sugar levels, especially important for control of diabetes and also decreases the risk of heart disease.

Ginger has been found to lower LDL lipoproteins (bad cholesterol), total cholesterol and blood triglycerides.

6-gingerol, in ginger has been found to have anti-cancer properties.

The antioxidant anti-inflammatory compounds in ginger have been seen to reduce inflammatory responses in the brain and thus improve cognitive function, reaction time and working memory.

Gingerol, can help lower the risk of infections by inhibiting the growth of bacteria and especially RSV virus, a common cause of respiratory infections.

Ginger is known to reduce gastrointestinal (GI) irritation, stimulate saliva and bile production, and reduce gastric contractions allowing food to move the GI tract more freely.

Ginger is an excellent carminative, encouraging the elimination of excess gas from the digestive system reducing bloating.

Ginger is an effective pain reliever and is well known to reduce the symptoms of dysmenorrhea, the severe pain associated with the menstrual cycle.

Marine Collagen

Collagen is the most abundant protein in the body and supports skin health and its elasticity, taking it as a drink is the perfect way to supplement diminishing levels as we get older.  Collagen contains many amino acids (proteins) and each one has it's own fantastic benefits, read here for more information on the top 15. At Rejuvenated we use marine collagen from white flesh fish, however we can not guarantee that it is 100% free from shell fish.

Oats are rich in silicon, a mineral important for bone formation and maintenance, especially in postmenopausal osteoporosis.

Raspberries are also thought to ease inflammatory conditions in the body, such as arthritis, by switching off the body’s inflammatory response enzymes. This is thought to be because of the anti-inflammatory anthocyanins, which is found in these berries.

Raspberries are rich in antioxidants such as vitamin C, quercetin (which is known to be a powerful anti-carcinogenic) and carotenoids.
